A series of adventures and incredible coincidences led to discovering Amami’s unique craft spirit known as kokuto shochu, made from artisanal black sugar.
They launched Nankai Shochu in 2017, dedicated to sharing their newfound passion for shochu and sake with friends across the U.S.

Product Description: The perfect gifting Shochu, renowned throughout Ginza’s bars and lounges. Our aged barley Shochu from Oita prefecture, also made from 100% barley and using barley koji. Nikaido Kitchom is allowed to rest for one year to further mellow and soften, before being filled in the traditional ceramic Tsubo flask, each one hand painted and unique.
